Hey Girls, Let’s Put Our High Heels On the Throat of Ken Buck (Figuratively)

August 12, 2010

In a tight election for Senate in Colorado, conventional wisdom seems to be that rookie incumbent Michael Bennet lucked out when Ken Buck won the Republican primary on Tuesday. Not only does the Democratic Party generally hold an advantage with female voters, but Buck should be easily defeated with just two words: high heels.

The infamous gaffe “Why should you vote for me? Because I do not wear high heels” was caught on tape and has since gotten plenty of attention online. Speculation is that the Bennet campaign will do everything possible to make sure that clip is played again and again for every woman in Colorado.

I’ve got a better idea. Instead of a silly, albeit telling, gaffe – how about we talk about the fact that Ken Buck is staunchly anti-abortion, even in cases of rape and incest? From his own mouth:

Ken Buck wants to force women to carry their rapists’ babies! How’s that for a campaign issue?

Definitely not! (Especially because I’ve heard his shoes are covered in bullshit.) Perhaps shoes are the window to your soul?
