Latest Threat to the American Way of Life: Grizzly Bears! (Watch Out, Sarah!)

November 9, 2010

#1 Threat to America? Bears!Does the American Family Association’s Bryan Fischer have it in for Sarah Palin and her band of “Mama Grizzlies”? I’m pretty sure the answer is yes! (If you read between the lines…) As reported at Talking Points Memo, Fischer is upset by a November 6th Los Angles Times article on the record high number of grizzly bear deaths in the Yellowstone area this year. He objects to the idea that people should worry about this when there were also two people who died from grizzly bear attacks. Says Fischer:

“One human being is worth more than an infinite number of grizzly bears,” Fischer writes. “Another way to put it is that there is no number of live grizzlies worth one dead human being. If it’s a choice between grizzlies and humans, the grizzlies have to go. And it’s time.”

“God makes it clear in Scripture that deaths of people and livestock at the hands of savage beasts is a sign that the land is under a curse. The tragic thing here is that we are bringing this curse upon ourselves,” Fischer writes.

This is the kind of insane “Christian” thought that allows good Christians to basically not give a rat’s ass about the environment. All the same, Fischer is hilarious as he has now become the real-life embodiment of  Stephen Colbert’s right-wing parody.

But considering this guy’s hard-core, “traditional Christian” stand for family values, I wouldn’t in the least bit be surprised if Bryan Fischer were just as concerned, if not more so, about Palin’s Mama Grizzlies as he is actual bears. Perhaps he really has these “conservative feminists” in mind when he says:

“Of course there is a simple answer: shoot these man-eaters on sight.”

Of course…I’m just sayin’!

You’re actually onto something quite brilliant with the Halliburton high speed rail quip.
