Things Right-Wingers (Inexplicably) Hate

September 14, 2012

There are many things that the modern Right-Wing appears to hate. In fact, aside from Mom, apple pie, and jingoistic Americana, we should all best consider ourselves ‘on notice’. (Although you uppity women, gays without the decency to stay in the closet, and various ‘others’ had best be extra careful.)

But there are some things that have somehow gained traction in the right-wing world; things that are universally held in disdain among those who are “right-thinking”.  I can’t even attempt to explain why these things aggrieve them so, all I can do is document it:

  • The never-gets-old nonsense over Obama’s use of a teleprompter. (Debunked.)
  • The endless outrage over Obama’s return of a Winston Churchill bust that the UK had loaned to the Bush administration. (Debunked.)
  • The sheer hatred of the Chevy Volt, and anyone who might drive one. (Debunked — by Fox News, no less.)
  • The indignation over Michelle Obama’s effort to encourage kids to eat better and excercise. (Just plain stupid.)

I’m afraid I can’t explain this level of psychopathy in a group, but I can assure you I’m trying my best. Then again, I’m sure there are researchers in logic, sociology, political science, and many, many more disciplines investigating and attempting to make sense out of this period in American politics.  Good luck with that.

Desperately clinging to crazy falsehoods is the new normal for Republicans making less than millions a year.

My co-worker calls Al Gore “A fat a-hole” but when I press him on exactly what it is he doesn’t like about him, it’s just that he’s “a fat a-hole”. He really connects with Democratic politicians on a personal, gut level, and doesn’t seem to be able to consider policy positions separately from the personalities.

Makes sense I guess, if you consider from the right’s point of view, if Paul Ryan looks like such a boy scout, he must be doing something right? Form over function?

There’s not a whole lot of thinkin’ goin’ on here!

I think it’s just a hatred for Democrats in general. Remember how they hated Bill and Hillary when they came to town.

The first and the third items are tough for me to speculate on, but I assume that the funding from current mass energy providers influences the hatred of a product that will cause a reduction in the consumption of the energy they produce (Kill Bill meet Kill Volt).

The second and fourth have a tempting commonality of black people to speculate on. Black people aren’t allowed to be smart in the racist world, so if Obama was just an empty head that could read from a teleprompter and seem smart, then their religion of racism would be able to keep the faith. Michelle, who is echoing what I as a white person in a white neighborhood, heard all my life in my house and in all my friends homes; go outside and play, stop watching the TV. Her ambitious desires for people in general would debunk the lazy negro meme that is so popular in the religion of racism. Also, the thought of an inferior (a black and a woman), telling anybody what to do much less white peoples children is appalling! The homeowner doesn’t take orders from the help! How dare she.

However, as an alternative hypothesis, it could be that its utter political partisanship and they have nothing to win with. I recall in the old western movies that a person would run out of bullets, then in frustration throw their pistol. Everybody I know ever watching this action would say, “that was stupid.” After a while Hollywood stopped doing the empty gun throw. The four riddles you show above could be the Right-Wing pundit’s empty gun throw.

Wow, your analysis of two and four is so disheartening, yet, I regret to say, most probably true. Being almost 63, I really didn’t think that so many people were still so regressive.
